A free pop-up playground that invites children to engage with and shape their city.

Mini Maddern is a 12-week activation of Maddern Square, Footscray through learning and play. Mini Maddern will start with the Build Party that brings children, educators, design / construction professionals and the community together to transform this part of the city.

The Build Party is the launch pad for Mini Maddern. Over the 27th and 28th of March, hundreds of kids will transform Maddern Square into an urban playscape.

VU Early Childhood students and staff will be running sessions at Mini Maddern over the 12 week period. These sessions will encourage children and their families to engage with the space through making, craft and loose parts.

Mini Maddern is presented as part of the Footscray University Town initiative, a partnership between Maribyrnong City Council and Victoria University. The ongoing program is supported by Victoria University’s Early Childhood Department.

Come play and learn with us!
